Last February we participated in a simulcast titled “Stepping Up – A Call to Courageous Manhood”. In this simulcast Dennis Rainey and other presenters shared what biblical manhood looks like and what it means to be a godly, courageous man in today’s world. They helped us begin to understand what it means to lead at home, at work, and in the community. During this retreat we announced that this fall we would be offering the men at FBC an opportunity to go through the 10-week video series based on Dennis Rainey’s book by the same title – Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Living.
In this series, Dennis Rainey, along with Matt Chandler, Bill Bennett, Tony Dungy, Robert Lewis, Voddie Baucham, Stu Weber, Mark Driscoll, James MacDonald, Joshua Harris, Eric Metaxas, Crawford Loritts, and 10 other ministry leaders will take us deeper into what it means to step up and live a courageous life. Through engaging stories, expert teaching, humorous vignettes, man-on-the-street interviews, and personal insights, these men’s ministry leaders call every man to become courageous leaders in their own lives, marriages, churches, and communities. Accompanied by small-group discussion and individual follow-up exercises, men of every age will learn action tools for gospel-centered living to empower them to be true heroes in their families and communities.
Here is a breakdown of the ten sessions:
Each session will last one hour. We will be hosting a group on Tuesday mornings from 6:00 to 7:00 and on Saturday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00. The first Tuesday session will be held on September 17th and the first Saturday session will be held on September 21st. Each participant will receive Denis Rainey’s book and a workbook for a cost of only $5.
This is an amazing opportunity for the men in our church to come together and explore what it means to be godly men.
